was he a member of the cold case posse?

No. That would be Maricopa County Sheriff Arpaio.

sheriff joe was the head of the posse... but there is a team doing the investigations

the reason I ask is the governors statement...

“I had known Sheriff Dever for well over a decade, stretching back to my days with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors”
- Governor Jan Brewer

He was not a member of the Cold Case Posse (those are all retired deputies), but he was one of the 10 Arizona Sheriffs who joined together to call for the Fast & Furious probe last year. Others include Arpaio, Babeu in Pinal County and Sheahan in Mohave county.

And like Breitbart, just strange timing that this accident happened on the day of the Fast & Furious report release.

Prayers for the Dever family.
