Totalitarianism is a process, not an event.
The terms “Republicans” and “white males” have been used, without objection, as comic terms of abuse for two decades. Lately, the abuse is no longer comical.
It’s a short step from where we are now to actual repression. All that’s missing is a win for Obama, and he will have 50 months to act out against the Class Enemy - and I expect that he will do exactly that.
And I don’t buy the “80 million riflemen” crap. I have lots of friends who are as well armed as a rifle company and who are very well trained. Most of them would die for the Constitution.
And up against 20 year old Marines and soldiers,with close air support, that’s exactly what they would be doing.
Up against drones, drones big and drones mosquito sized, al being frantically acquired by the government for the military and all the agencies.
