At Grandland?
They were members of the “urban” demographic as was likely their target, too.

This was our local shopping area when I was growing up. A&P and another grocery store, clothing stores, a shoe store, Kresege’s and more were located there. It was thriving and nice. It also sits on the edge of one of the nicest neighborhoods in Detroit. We lived about a mile west of there.

Spared the poor yute from a life of crime....
You made me spill my coffee. I laughed, as it is the truth, we live in Las Vegas, and our natives are no better. Must be the water.

I grew up west of Detroit in its heyday! Everyone I knew was attached to the auto industry.
I have spent the last 12 years in suburban Chicago, working on the Southside (Ford Assembly on 130th). Now I’m in Tejas and can’t be happier. IMPO, my urban bona fides are quite strong.
That said, we are in different times today and the urban residents have an entitlement attitude that has become more pronounced since 01/20/2009.
I still plan on retiring in rural Jackson/Calhoun county!

Both are good relatively rural counties that aren't so far from everything as to be inconvenient. Both are fairly inexpensive to live in as well.
