My dad and I attended an emergency preparedness class this past weekend. While most of the info was stuff that I already know, there were a few ideas that I'd never thought of. All in all, it was nice to sit down and hear what someone else has to say on the subject.
BTW, one of the things mentioned in the class that I hadn't thought of is using your spare canning jars to store drinking water. Prepare and seal it just like you would a jar of tomatoes or beans, and it will stay fresh for around three years. Since it is stored in glass jars, you do not have to worry about chemicals from plastic bottles contaminating your water supply.

Just a reminder, with all the violence breaking out....
SITUALTIONAL AWARENESS!!!!! Always be aware of what’s going on around you.
You have to have supplies, skills, and knowledge; but you need to be aware of what’s happening around you.
Example, when I go to the market, before I get out of the truck I look into the parked vehicles in the parking lot. Is there someone watching you from one of them?
When exiting the market, who’s hanging out on the sidewalk?
Prime attack times are also leaving or arriving home.
