Be careful about what is “disabled” these days too. There’s lots of people with stress-related disabilities. Most of those are just people with minor problems who could have been helped but the gummint would rather call them disabled than risk adding them to the unemployment rolls. Stress-related disability is becoming a common way to keep the gravy train running after the unemployment runs out.

Correct, a large portion of those are elderly, etc. or just plain poor.

An individual could earn $19,000 in 2011 and pay NO federal income tax. It starts at $19,001 filing individual.
