I cannot understand these personal attacks against an honorable man. He didn't server as a grand wizard in the KKK or leave a girl to drown in his car or lie under oath about having sex with an intern in the oval office or be accused of rape. What exactly has he done to deserve such attacks? Maybe he is too conservative for the GOP. After all, he has a 97.24 lifetime ACU rating, voted against TARP and the prescription drug progam, and is stauchly pro-life.
There are a great number of people who have honorably served this country, however not all are well suited to be a US Senator. This includes Todd Akin. He may be a vet, he may be a conservative, he may be a very nice man. However, he does not have the skills required to run a statewide campaign. If his comments regarding rape didn’t demonstrate his lack of skills, his wife’s comments show an even greater lack of discipline. This is not about the establishment wanting to elect a RINO, its about beating McCaskill in a year when she is very vulnerable. All Akin had to do is stay on message and be disciplined — he screwed up badly and is about to hand McCaskill 6 more years to oppose the tea party/conservative agenda.
It is the truth.
If a liberal were paying his family from campaign funds do you think that it wouldn't be relevant?
It is not like Akin were going to be replaced by a pro-life liberal candidate!
Anyone who wants Akin to remain as a candidate for Senate - it is up to THEM to fund him. His family really needs the money.
Outsiders don't DARE to tell us who we get as our candidate/ how DARE you not send in outside money to keep his campaign (and family) rolling in money!
That right there is funny!!!!
Glad to see that at least some of my fellow VA posters did their homework! As to the oft alleged "hayseedism" Akin's father was third generation Harvard grad ...hardly "a bunch of hicks." The three Marines are/were commissioned officers and all Naval Academy grads ...Perry Akin, the son who is campaign manager, was a Marine 1st Lieutenant w/combat engineers during the battle of Fallujah for which he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal w/Combat “V.” (one level below the Bronze Star; arguably more significant than a Bronze Star lacking the combat “V”)
