In a statement, Mayor Rahm Emanuel blasted the teachers and the union for failing to end the strike and said he plans to file an injunction to force the strike to end and get kids back to school.

“I will not stand by while the children of Chicago are played as pawns in an internal dispute within a union. This was a strike of choice and is now a delay of choice that is wrong for our children. Every day our kids are kept out of school is one more day we fail in our mission: to ensure that every child in every community has an education that matches their potential,” Emanuel said.

“I have instructed the City’s Corporation Counsel to work with the General Counsel of Chicago Public Schools to file an injunction in circuit court to immediately end this strike and get our children back in the classroom.” the mayor said. “This continued action by union leadership is illegal on two grounds – it is over issues that are deemed by state law to be non-strikable, and it endangers the health and safety of our children...While the union works through its remaining issues, there is no reason why the children of Chicago should not be back in the classroom as they had been for weeks while negotiators worked through these same issues.”

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has sowed these seeds all of his miserable government career. It is written into the Democrat DNA that all public employees have the "right" to form unions and "bargan" for a better deal.

The seeds have grown as the Mayor intended....and they grew a crop of toxic weeds with sharp thorns.

Now the good Mayor is stuck with the worthless and expensive crop.

He should just fire every one of the "teachers"..ban their "union" and immediately advertise for qualified teachers at a reasonable salary. He would be shocked at just how many of the former "union" teachers who would sign up and go to work tomorrow. Another thing he could do is to get a law passed which would cap the total compensation of anybody who worked for a union to no more than 50K a year. Lets see once and for all just how dedicated the "bosses" are to the "rank and file"

...but I ain't holding my breath...Rahm is a stupid, ideological Democrat socialist, and as such cannot change...

The people of Chicago are screwed if they think that using force on the union thugs is going to make things hunky-dory....this shiite will go on for weeks...maybe never get "settled" so that everyone is happy.

The "children" will get dumber and in more trouble just because of a handfull of malcontent teachers and union thug bosses.

“I will not stand by while the children of Chicago are played as pawns in an internal dispute within a union. (They need to be indoctrinated regularly, least they see reality) This was a strike of choice and is now a delay of choice that is wrong for our children.(see above doctrine)... Every day our kids are kept out of school is one more day we fail in our mission:(op. cit) to ensure that every child in every community has an education that matches their potential,”(“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”.) Any bets the union will ignore any injunction? Or they play in the courts for a week until the strike is settled.

....an education that matches their potential,” Emanuel said..

An education that matches their potential? ROFLMAO!!!

What education is that? How to put condoms on, or how to become a homosexual? 60% of these Chicago "yutes" wouldn't even be able to locate the USA on a world globe. Their reading skills are atrocious, they can barely do simple math addition or subtraction, and their science, history or English skills are atrocious.

Persanally I be hoping the striek continues thru the entirr skool yier.
