Of course, US Army uniforms might have been more conspicuous than local insurgent attire, seeing how many locals we hire as contractors. /s

...get the heliborne resources aloft immediately. And to think...those guys managed to
run (???)
unnoticed, carrying AK-47s and RPGs, all the way from the breach point to where the helos were parked to blow two of them up.
Simply amazing...or simply public consumption.

It’s believable.
Attack in the hours of darkness by only 18/19 suicide attackers.
Probably minimal personnel physically between the perimeter and the objective, local guards.
Too many rear area security commanders forget all barriers must be kept under observation to retain their effectiveness, otherwise they simply delay an attacker by minutes.

The British press, as usual has more detailed articles than the US main stream media. Of course they could be wrong too, but here is an article with details on the attack and how the fence wire was breached.

The British press, as usual has more detailed articles than the US main stream media.Well how about that! Two different articles by the British press and neither of them quite give the same story.
One has the fence being blown up and one has the attackers digging under the fence.
I just wish they would get their details straight. They're almost as bad as the US press.

If the reports of a wall and a fence outside of it are true, it would make sense if the attackers tunneled under the fence and then breached the wall with an explosive. Not much sense in detonating an explosive charge to announce your presence before even getting to the wall.
But you are correct that there are many stories floating around today for every news event, and the media doesn't seem to want to take the effort to figure out what really happened.
