I do not like your answer at all. The American people do not, repeat, do not want our Marines to be faced with an enemy and not have ammunition for their weapons because of policy. Sorry, but that answer flies in the face of logic and our honor as Americans.
Save the weasel words for the politicians. Did they, or did they not have ammunition?
Marine officers knowing the status of this should protest and fight for their troops and failing to change such policies, resign in protest.
And yes, I'm serious. Outraged, too.
Dereliction of Duty is what I'd call it. There are some things more important than scoring your next promotion. Loyalty to your subordinates and keeping them able to fight is far, far more important. Otherwise, why do we need Marines there at all? Just hire some rent-a-cops.
The Lady was just following orders when “she” released that mess. And she may very well be putting in her papers as we speak.
Have you ever heard my (oft repeated) line: “A bitching sailor is a happy sailor, you only need to really worry when they stop bitching”?
Then ask yourself exactly when you last heard any member of the military utter so much as a complaint about the weather over the last two or three years.
There are already some truly PO’d people out there, some in the military and some not, and a gross cluster**** like this past week might just be the spark that PO’s the whole damned outfit....
Judging by the high speed run for cover taken by most (if not all) of those responsible, I’d say they’ve arrived at the very same conclusion and the only course they can really take at the moment is to make themselves very, very small in case the SHTF.
This couldn’t happen to more deserving....slugs.
