Report: Obama to meet with Netanyahu, as Naval ships heading for Strait of Hormuz

Are matters coming to a head in the Middle East? According to a report by Sean Rayment of the UK Telegraph, the leaders of the United States are going to meet tomorrow, something that had previously not been announced, as annual naval exercises - the largest ever, are to bring a large flotilla of western vessels to the Strait of Hormuz:

They shouldn’t be taken lightly. They came very close to defeating Israel in 1973. Granted they caught Israel by surprise, but the Egyptian Army still gave the Israeli Army all it could handle. I think we still hang on to the myth (because of the 1967 war)that the Israeli military is invincible. It isn’t. Same with Israel’s intelligence services. They are good, but not perfect. Egypt caught them completely flat footed in 1973.

The problem is that America has always been touted as a Free coutry, especially for religious freedom.

However I don’t believe the founders ever thought of Islam as a parasitic religion that would one day set out to destroy the country it feeds off of.

I agree we should strictly limit immigration of Islamics and we should watch those already her to see thatthey do not threaten us with Sharia law or their crazed jihads.

Certainly Israel is looking out for itself, it would be crazy not to. They know all too well what happens when a mob run by fanatics is on the loose. Our American politicians are trying to act as though nothing is wrong as country after country is being swallowed up by crazed Muslims.

George Bush called Islam a religion of peace, one of his most stupid quotes.Islam is a conquering reich, just as the Nazi’s were.The religious aspect of it is a sham, a cover.It is there to fool the ignorant.

I don’t believe anyone has an idea the Consequences of attacking Iran now.
But even I know the consequences of a crazed, suicidal, pumped up mob, with a Nuclear weapon and a promise to annihilate Israel.
We cannot allow this crazed pack of heathen beheaders to gain a Nuclear weapon, and the means to deliver it. No matter the consequences now, they are better than the consequences later.

Of course, I disagree. If Mr. Netanyahu were going to attack, he would just do it. He is agitating for the US to attack. Israel is the strongest military power in the Middle East, and it can protect itself if attacked. Due to demographics and other changes, that may not be true in the future, and that is what worries them. As we have seen, the US is fast losing its ability to control what happens around the world. For us to engage in another conflict now when we are entangled in 2 wars already and we are BROKE, would only hasten our own destruction. How about we fix the US first?

The main reason the "kinetic operations" we are now engaged in are flpps is our lack of resolve to actually make them hurt. In a way, I almost agree with you - if we aren't going to let them taste our steel, we need to be out of there. On the flip side, it will only do what the Fed is doing to the economy - put the facade of "success" on it until it's so broken that the final crash is going to be ten times as serious as it should be. "Fixing the US first" will require much domestic pain and the willingness to make our enemies fear us instead of hating and killing us with disdain and the next best thing to impunity.

How much you wanna bet that attack happens while they [Bibi and 0bummer] are meeting?

Interesting idea and quite the possible scenario. Reminds me of Jap (that's what we called them) envoys meeting with leaders in Washington simultaneous to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Not comparing Bibi's likely action to the perfidy of the Nipponese. Just saw a parallel in Bibi's meeting with "the enemy" simultaneous with an Israel attack on Iran.

Alternate scenario:

1) Israel attacks Iran.[delivering a crippling initial blow with its detonation of an EMP device]

2) Egypt, under control of muslim brotherhood, cancels peace treaty with Israel, sides with Iran and attacks Israel resulting in two large, well armed countries at war with Israel.[US cuts off all aid to Egypt, including parts for its American weapon systems]

3) Hezbollah, which fought Israel’s army to a standstill in 2006, attacks Israel from Lebanon.[Israel engages Hezbollah to a standstill. It's fighting for its life]

4) Iran and Egypt manage to sink ships in Straight of Hormuz, cutting off oil supply to the west.[Egypt and Iran are unable to block the Straight of Hormuz, oil flow continues]

Iran is not a pressing problem for the US. Let Israel fight its own battles.

I haven’t seen this meeting confirmed anywhere else. Netanyahu was on two Sunday morning programs and didn’t mention it. In fact, when asked, he mentioned that the scheduling wasn’t going to work out on this upcoming trip to the US.

He said nothing about a meeting with Obama “today” or “tomorrow.”

Any indication that Obama has changed his mind about a meeting with Netanyahu needs to be confirmed by another source.
