The left no doubt believes that sending a gay man to a Muslim country as Ambassador will enlighten the masses over there somehow, it's such a progressive, enlightened thing to do. They're promoting “tolerance” or so the boilerplate line goes.
It's as detached from reality as all these environuts getting eaten by bears due to having convinced themselves that they're somehow immune to it because, gosh darn it, they're more attuned and evolved and the bears just know it.
