But he should have. That’s what the article is pointing out. And he should have taken the date into account.
He can’t be absolved of making a terrible decision. He can always say he’s busy and can’t be there that day.
Along with himself, he was endangering others, including those who lost their lives and Libyan informers who may have had their identity compromised.
