Stationed there once, that island ain’t gonna faze this storm.
To: CodeToad
We were stationed above Naha, only 2 miles wide from what I remember

I once lived on a 1.2 square mile island that was only 6 feet above high tide. A simple tropical storm would wash over the place. I can’t imagine staying put when 50 feet of surf is coming.

Having spent some time on Okinawa only one thing comes to my mind:

Grab your bags and get off the base before they lock it down!!!!!

Will dog still be available for purchase at the local grocery stores and restaurants in S. Korea after the storm passes?

I miss that place. I was an Army brat in Oki for three years during the mid-sixties. I still miss the place. Best three years of my life.

Different map than I saw earlier. I should have looked instead of posting from your ping. :)

Not any fades here waiting for the Horn to be blown. I figure that will be in January.

stay safe, my ex-pat friend. It is definitly missing us on the main island, but we will be getting a thunderstorm out of it... at least it will keep the mosquitoes away for a couple of days ;)
Keep in touch with us so we all know you are ok :^)
