Here is an example of a Dignified Transfer Ceremony:

The caskets are ‘transfered’ from one mode of transportation to another. They do not take a pit stop on a floor/pedestal or anything.

This is why this is very weird to me. This ceremony was a hybrid of a Dignified Transfer Ceremony and a Memorial Service.
