You donated money to one of the richest men in America?!

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Latest-News-Wires/2012/0602/Romney-net-worth-remains-near-250-million

If Romney wants the presidency, let him fund it himself.

And if you’ve got money to spend on politicians, spend it on conservatives.”

Fair points, and I have donated directly to several conservative candidates. I hadn’t planned on donating to Romney partly because of what you’re saying (he’s got plenty of $) and partly because I don’t like him all that much. But as the election approaches, I’m getting more pissed off by the day at the media and their utterly transparent attempts to cover up the obvious incompetence of this administration, while Obama skips intel briefings, runs off to Vegas while the Middle East is burning, refuses to meet with Israeli PM while agreeing to go on Letterman, etc. I just can’t take another 4 years of this! And more importantly, our country can’t survive it!

So yeah, I see what you’re saying, but these times are too critical to get hung up with Romney’s imperfections. You can read my rants about Romney during the primaries, we already fought that battle, and we lost. Now we’ve gotta get in the game and get remove this Marxist from the White House. Once we accomplish that, then we can worry about holding Mitt’s feet to the fire and perhaps primarying him in 2016.

Toward that end, I made a small $25 donation to Romney and I’m going to make phone calls for him as well. And not to mention, I’m also working my ‘circle of influence’ to make sure I convince any of my friends that are persuadable that we can’t afford another 4 years of this.

Thanks, lquist1, that is exactly the reason I wrote this post. Most people here never wanted Romney in the primary, but, and forgive me for shouting this:

THE BEST IS THE ENEMY OF THE GOOD.

For some people here, if he isn't the best, he isn't worth supporting. Would they rather have a candidate who agrees with them 60% of the time or one that agrees with them 0.001% of the time?

I hope most of us here wake up and work to prevent a repeat of the debacle that happened in 2008.
