Libya - The muder of the ambassador was conducted on released information to the public, regarding his attending an opening of a new “Cultural Center”, and the “embassy” he was attack in was actually a “consulate” or annex facility, with only a walls and slightly beefed up controlled access in and out of that facility...The main “embassy” is in Tripoli...FYI...
Egypt - The main embassy has been there for quite some time, the Marines stationed there are basically held to normal ROE, and the authority and standing orders from the Ambassador...They are probably NOT going to do much other than cover the evacuation, if need be, of embassy personnel and the Ambassador...
Yemen - That is a main embassy, from what I understand, the facility is always under some sort of threat or action...Al Quida is very strong in that area, and it didn’t take much on their part to get the people in a froth...What resembles a Yemini government IS actively prosecuting the elements of Al Quida it can find on its own, and is minimally, if not very effective in that effort overall...But the Yamini Government IS trying, but maybe not too hard from my point of view...
Today we will probably see more and more unrest and attacks on embassies and consulates around the entire globe on our diplomatic corp, and Americans traveling and living abroad...
I would say this is all going to continue well into next year, through our elections and as long as they can sustain the interst of the people who are not necessarily involved directly with Al Quida, only the mindless goobs who they can exploit...With hopes that “we” retaliate and repel boarders at some point with deadly force...
That is the goal of Al Quida, to get us to react and defend ourselves, to which the world community will condem us more than the folks committing the crimes against us to begin with...
Remember in football, it is not the initial foul that draws some penalty flags, it is the push and shoving afterwards that sometimes gets more attention from the Refs than the initial foul...
So now the world is waiting to see if once again, a democrat party president will falter and prove their fecklessness in dealing with an act of war, or surpise them with a military reaction of sime sort...
Which in this case will be a win-win for Al Quida and the rest of the world which wants the US to be taken further down a notch in world prestige and diplomatic/political credibility...

Apparently they were, from some leaks found out late yesterday...Something like a 48 hour notice from what I heard...

I have to check, but I don’t believe Marines use “rubber bullets”...Now the indigienous police forces outside the control of our diplomatic corp are not under our direction, and they do in some cases fire tear gas, rubber bullets and throw back rocks, thrown at them, which I did see to some sense of humor in that clip I saw yesterday...So the overall debacle has its feckless moments on both sides of this equation...
