Lebanon gave them trouble in 2006, I think.
If you go back and watch the state departments activities during all of the conflicts (recent, from the 1980’s onward) Israel has been in...You might be able to find that the communications, and activities of the US military assets in the area have been utilized in a stasnd off-ish manner, to lessen our percieved involvement in those “efforts”...When Israel pushed into Lebanon, they were told to stop short of Beruit, less receive little in the way of armaments and parts for their military from us...
They did, but from my direct observations of that particular time, I recall that the Israelis did something rather ingenious in my opinion...
They did comply with that request from our Government, but, instead of bombing and invading the city, they commenced a series of super sonic runs over that city that resembled bomb runs that the effect of the sonic booms was enough to have the commanders of the forces defending that city to evacuate, thinking they were being pummelled by Israeli forces...It lasted for about 2, almost 3 days (and nights) of boom and zooms over that area and not a shot was ever fired by Israel...But it was enough to get their enemies out of that strategic position...
I just thought that was brilliant...But you’d never hear of such ingenuity in our new services, or other sources if I recall correctly...
The bottom line is this...Isael WILL do what it has to do to protect its land and people, they have given us plenty of opportunities to join in and help out over that time...They have done so again...
When they do take care of this latest threat, they will do so alone, and deal with the consequences alone...Especially with the political atmosphere and occupants of D.C. now...
If the Arab world chooses to retaliate...They do so at their own risk...I do not believe there will be much patience if they choose to make that very poor decision...
