Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack H.Obama flew from Honolulu to the airport at Kahuluki on Maui, found their way to the county courthouse in the city of Wailuku, the county seat and a popular tourist destination in that era, and were `lawfully married`.
I was interested to access Wailuku on Google. What a very nice area it is. 100 miles from Honolulu. Of course, those who wish to present the city to the public have done an excellent job. True it is over fifty years since the supposed marriage of Stanley Ann and Barack Hussein, but it has information about the county record office there.
The most meticulous details are given of the record keeping in that establishment. Even to the listing of undesirable persons on the criminal register. One entry states simply, Marriage Records. There follows the mantra, which is well known of the main agency, which is the Hawaii Department of Health. Only the persons concerned, or their relatives, and some civil authority, can gain a copy of any marriage certificate.
Surely such a record should exist, that is if a marriage took place. Nothing against Stanley Ann Dunham on this account as far as I am concerned. It should be remembered she was still only 18 years old. I believe the public has a right to know however.
Ok, so let’s go along with the fairy tale. The young couple are in love and they have to get married because she’s pg. The groom doesn’t have a dime to his name. Why would they fly to Maui to merely go to the city to get hitched when they could do the same in Honolulu?
Or, the gal confesses to her parents that she’s pg and papa demands the guy marry her so she won’t be a fallen woman and the child will have a name. Papa isn’t going to buy them tickets to Maui. Papa will want to drag them both to the nearest JP in Honolulu to make sure.
Or, the gal is living in her own little fairy tale and foots the bill for the plane herself. The happy couple jet off to get married in secret and come home to surprise their friends and family. No, that doesn’t work either because NONE of the groom’s friends knows anything about her or the baby. The love birds never live together.
Nothing fits. Even Jr. is vague about the marriage. IMO, it never happened.
