The conventional wisdom emerged in Washington almost immediately on Wednesday: Mitt Romney's handling of the violence in Egypt and Libya was a disaster.
"The comments were a big mistake, and the decision to double down on them was an even bigger mistake," Steve Schmidt, senior campaign strategist to Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, told CBS News. "There are legitimate criticisms to be made but you foreclose on your ability to make them when you try to score easy political points. And the American people, when the country is attacked, whether they're a Republican or Democrat or independent, want to see leaders who have measured responses, not leaders whose first instinct is to try to score political points."
I had to watch Brian Williams last night, just to see what was being said. He seemed to scold Romney like a little child, who had done something very wrong. It was pathetic. He went into this, “....on a day when we should have been remembering and mourning the loss of American life...Romney turned the tragedy into a campaign issue...” crap. It was humorous but so sad that the reporting is so biased, and that so many take what they hear in the MSM as the truth.
"McCain: Libya's rebels 'my heroes'"And again (as in 2011 and during his 2008 "campaign") useful idiot McCain is covering Obama's ass.
Steve, you did such a great job in 2008 getting McCain elected, I know the advice you are giving President McCain today is above reproach.
For the mobs of "journalists" attacking Romney, it was not about campaign protocol, but about support for Obama's cause.
The rioting Muslims chanted "We are all Osama!" If the "journalists" were as honest they should have chanted "We are all Obama!"
Welcome to FR!! Your posting history smells of troll.
What constituted the alleged botching?
(Yeesh, step off FR for a few minutes, miss The New Thing Everyone Is Talking About But Not Quoting(TM).)
Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that the Obama Administration attacked Romney before they condemned the attacks that killed our Ambassador and diplomats.
