USA Today reports that the riot at the U.S. embassy in Cairo appears to have been planned well before the Egyptian media reported on the anti-Islam YouTube film that was blamed for sparking the protest. The protest was reportedly announced on August 30 by Gamaa Islamiyya, an Egyptian terrorist group, to call for the release of its leader, Sheikh Omar abdel Rahman — aka the blind sheik, who is serving a life sentence for the first World Trade Center bombing:

There is an opportunity here to make peace. My suggestion is to implant a polonium pellet via IV during a colonoscopy. Tell everyone there were some cancerous polyps, and we can’t be sure we got it all.
Wait a few weeks and when the symptoms manifest, proclaim him terminally ill and release him on a humanitarian basis to die at home with his minions. Repeat as needed with any other notable prisoners. We are, after all willing to be reasonable, aren’t we?

Sheikh Omar abdel Rahman should be a dead man, and if he were, and if he were crab food, then no one could make demands for his release.

I watched about 20 minutes of coverage on FoxNews around 6:00 and it was such a load of craptrap, I couldn't take anymore!
Their main points were about the dangers of the YouTube video, supposed negative reaction to Romney's comments, and how the Egyptians tried to protect the ambassador and then carried him to the hospital to try to save him.
The internet has absolutely kicked the ass of every news outlet on television, regarding this event. It's like every news station is broadcasting yesterday's news - the story is moving so far ahead of them.

The new MB president of Egypt called for the release of the blind sheikh recently. Abdurahman was tried in 1995 and a National Lawyer's Guild lawyer named Lynne Stewart was assigned to his case. The NLG is a communist party front. It is tied to Ramsey Clarke, the guy who came up with A.N.S.W.E.R. and aimed his ire and all his venom at Obama's predecessor Bush. He was also at times a lawyer for Slobodan Milosevic and Saddam Hussein among others. ANSWER is a front for the Worker's world Party and was founded immediately after 9/11 as an "antiwar" organization though it is quite prowar if it is Palestinians doing the attacking. It had an earlier name IIRC, one was "Stop the Bush Attack" and was associated with URLs that were purchased prior to 9/11 which had names that seemed suspiciously prescient and included the 9/11 date.
The sheikh called Lynne Stewart his "secret dove" and she became his willing accomplice in delivering messages to his terrorist followers back in egypt, including a message that was a call to arms for his followers to drop peace pretenses and carry out attacks. His followers are known for the Luxor Massacre of tourists, mostly German IIRC.
She was prosecuted for aiding him later after her activities were discovered, and sentenced, though not to long enough a term. Money for her defense was provided from none other than a George Soros organization. Soros is a campaign financier of Obama, though not the largest.
Another person assigned to the blind Sheikh's case was a translator named Sattar. Sattar was also a US postal worker who worked at one point out of the same airport from which Atta launched his attack on 9/11.
Sattar was a very nasty operator who did his best to help the blind sheikh, even to the point of tracking down FBI investigators/witnesses against the Sheikh at their homes.
Sattar also drafted a letter of introduction which aided a pair of terrorists who had fake Belgian passports get to their target. These terrorists and Sattar were connected to Zawahiri's computer, later found in Afghanistan. These terrorists' target was a guy named General Ahmed Shah Massood, a fellow we once aided against the Soviets when they invaded Afghanistan before the Clinton administration screwed him in favor of helping Gulbuddin Hekmatyar who later joined al Qaeda.
Massood was the opponent of the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Massood in 2001 still holding out against them. That is, he was holding out gaint them until the day he returned to a camp to meet two journalists who he had been led to believe were going to write a story about him and his army's efforts to beat the Taliban.
The two journalists were the two terrorists with Belgian passports who were given a letter of introduction written by Sattar and they had stuffed a bomb inside their camera which they set off, killing Massood and one of his aids along with themselves. They assassinated General Massood on September 9, 2001 just days before the attacks on the United States.
The intent was to disable his Afghan army long enough for the Taliban and al Qaeda to defeat it and gain international recognition as the legitimate goverment while the US was still reeling from the 9/11 attacks, but the US reaction was swifter than they expected and the US was able to use the territory Massood's army still held as a "beachhead."
