The Egyptian General Intelligence Service warned that a radical jihadi group is planning to launch terrorist attacks against the US and Israeli embassies in Cairo, the Egypt Independent reported.
Israel has accused the group, dubbed Global Jihad, of being responsible for the August 5 attack in Sinai against Egyptian border guards, which left 16 dead.
The Egyptian Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper reportedly obtained a copy of a top secret letter addressed to Major General Samy Sedhom, first assistant Interior Minister for Social Security, on September 4, which stated that intelligence services notified the ministry’s national security body that elements from the organization in Egypt and Gaza were planning attacks on the two embassies.

Did they tell US intelligence?
Would that threat have been included in the Obama intelligence briefs that he was too busy to attend?
If Egypt knew and did nothing, then Egypt is at fault. Even if they notified the U.S. and did nothing else. They are the host country and they are obligated to protect the American Embassy by the U.N. convention.
If the U.S. knew and didn’t take precautions then heads need to roll here and I’d say murder charges are in order.
I’ve asked the same questions. I can’t believe Israeli intelligence didn’t know of these plans. And believing so, would be amazed they didn’t pass it on to American intelligence, even with our deteriorating relationship.
So, let’s say that’s true. What then? Did we take it seriously? If not, why not? If so, why wasn’t the president appraised, even given his hatred for such meetings? And regardless whether he was appraised or not, why wasn’t embassy/consulate staff beefed up or more security provided? Why did we apparently rely on local security personnel instead? So many questions. Obama’s not attending meetings is only the tip of the iceberg on this detestable situation.
Maybe this is why Israel PM wanted to meet POTUS
Let’s stop all this concern about national security, the rotten economy, our closest allies, massive debt and deficits, crime and greedy unions in Chicago, and similar trivial stuff. Obama has much more important things to be working on.

Didn’t know Israel had embassies in Muslim countries. I would have to get hazardous duty pay for that job.

These attacks in Egypt and Libya aren’t about that film. There are plenty of films, videos and etc. out there depicting the same sort of information about the muslims and mohammed.
Libya was an assassination and probably Egypt was a distraction by the same movement or group. This administration is a group of self-promoting, bragging fools.
The security leaks are an example of what is wrong with Obama and his administration of idiots. They will never understand that while they were self-promoting and bragging about how great Obama is...they literally created the perfect storm internationally.
On the other hand, maybe this is exactly what they wanted.

You mean things like his appearance on Letterman, the same day as his skipped meeting with the Israeli PM due to a scheduling conflict? So important to trade chuckles with Letterman. Priorities, man.
I am boiling mad!!! Obama needs to be impeached and jailed. Unfortunately, it would probably take more than the few months he has left!

Coincidence is a b*tch. Check the following news statement.
“According to a report in the National Journal Obama will be a guest on “The Late Show with David Letterman” during a trip to New York on September 18 – the exact time he could have met with Netanyahu who will be visiting New York for the UN General Assembly.”
“ Earlier on Tuesday, the White House said the meeting would not be possible over the two leader’s conflicting schedules. But later the white house denied reports that Obama had refused to meet Netanyahu in New York on the sidelines of the UN’s General Assembly.”
Israel has called Obama a liar. We know he is a liar. Obama knows he will be in NY the same day as Netanyahu, after Netanyahu requested a meeting. Then Obama denies hearing of such a request, despite Israeli protests that Netanyahu did request a meeting. Obama has every opportunity to meet with the Israeli PM but is in avoidance mode.
