If I were the pastor, I’d say this to the general, “With all due respect, I’m simply exerting my rights to free speech that is integral to the constitution. I’m aware my action may trigger some violence by those who try to undermine our principles. You are a general in the US Armed Forced, whose job is to protect the constitution. It is you job to protect me in exerting my rights.”
