The U.S. commander in Afghanistan on Monday criticized a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Quran on September 11, warning the demonstration "could cause significant problems" for American troops overseas.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort in Afghanistan," Gen. David Petraeus said in a statement issued Monday.

At least Petraeus didn't call the guy, but it is still beyond the pale.

I was thinking the same thing. Wish this was posted sooner.

Again.

Gen. David Petraeus also reached out to Paster Terry Jones regarding his antics to inflame Muslims. This is not the first time the US military has asked Jones to back down.
