While I was in law school, I wanted to join JAG, but in my last year, I found out I was pregnant—and all I wanted to do was to buy baby clothes. :) My GPA tanked after that. :)

Please tell your family member his or her service is appreciated, even by Americans living abroad. My two children were born in the States. My son was home sick on 9/11 this year; when they played the National Anthem on the t.v., I stood up, put my hand on my heart, and asked him, a 16-year old young man, to do the same. And he did. He will someday realize he was born in the best country in the world.

Julie, You take care. And hopefully your son shall bounce back soon from his health issues.
My nephew the Marine having done two tours in Iraq, Intel on the ground among some bad parts in Iraq is now for the second time as a Civilian employee, in Afghanistan. At a very remote base I will not go into.
Obviously. I keep him and so many others "from our side" in prayer.
You take care, George PS. I can understand your urge to purchase baby clothes then bring up little ones. I was blessed as well for some years in my case being a father to a wonderful little girl.
IMHO. God is good. And being a good mom surpasses anything you could ever have done as a JAG officer.
I will try to remember your thank you to my nephew, God willing he shall return from his one year service in A.
