“I think Gallup has been effectively taken hostage by Obama and this ludicrous fourteen point lead is Gallup’s way of signaling to the country that they are not acting of their own volition. (I’m semi-serious.”
Actually, I was thinking the exact same thing. Gallup is between a rock and a hard spot right now, and the best way they could show that they are operating under duress is to have ridiculous poll results so over the top pro Obama that it will make a joke of Obama’s numbers. Make the results so blatantly phony that everyone will know that Gallup is trapped and can only respond with ridicule. If they are smart, this would be the tack to take, because the Obama Admin couldn’t say that Gallup isn’t favoring them, however, everyone will know why their results are ludicrous. Perfect way to get back at the Obama Admin for bringing their bogus lawsuit against Gallup while insulating themselves from the Obama Admin being able to claim their results don’t favor Obama.
As everyone would know why they were doing this, Gallup could worry about getting their good reputation back after Obama is kicked out of office. Plus, Obama and his minions have already ruined Gallup’s reputation this time around anyway, so give them a kick in the pants oh so cleverly to basically tell the Justice Dept. to stick it. Also, assuming Obama loses, Gallup could then tell everyone why they gave out such baloney numbers, as it would then be safe to do so. That would be my tactic if stuck in the same position as Gallup is in.
Great minds think alike!
