Telling your listeners they are winning when they are losing is not helping them, or hurting Dems.

I'd refer to football or sports related anecdotes in disagreement, but then we'd only be talking in circles. I would like to note that the election, close as it is, is still weeks away, and your already talking about losing.

It's like disabling all the indicators on your car because you dont like the readings. Or finding a blood pressure meter, scale, bood sugar test, or thermometer which tells you what you want the measurements to be so you can keep eating fatty saltly sugary food.

Ah! Then the problem isn't Rush, it's the "indicators" that individual people are willing to believe and go by. You're going by the indicators you trust in, which seems to work for you; I go by mine; Rush goes by his. And we all voice our opinions based on those indicators. Still, whatever any of our indicators say, that still doesn't sway the fact that we have a politician in the White House who is prone to lying and cheating at all cost, and is not above to using Chicago-style, dirty tactics and thuggery. In which case, all indicators can be deemed moot.

The real problem isn't Rush's optimistic(?) view. The real problem is how do you deal with an opponent who cheats and has the Media biased in his favor.

As individuals, it's up to each of us to figure out our own way in handling this dilemma. Rush handles it the only way he knows how; and if times, it comes off as false optimism, then perhaps, in dire times, he believes false optimism is still better than NO optimism. Who knows. At least, from what I can hear, he makes an effort to point negativity in the right direction......most of the times. ;)

Again, I would like to say this has been a thoroughly enjoyable and informative discussion. I'll leave you with the last word.

RE :’ I'll leave you with the last word.

HA, That is like that ‘last’ potato chip we promise ourselves it will be.

I am not convinced that Rush's recent argument that Obama looking better in the polls rallies Dems to vote and Republicans to stay home is true. I think this may be another of his arguments of convenience.

If a Rush listener thinks that the R candidate is going to win in a landslide why does that make him more likely to vote? seems that if the R candidate is down that is more reason to get out the vote for him.

Or does Rush think his listeners are like horses ? they just follow the pack where-ever they go and wont bother to vote for the candidate they think will lose?
