JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) The Missouri Farm Bureau provided a boost for Senate candidate Todd Akin on Tuesday by reaffirming its endorsement of the Republican congressman despite his remarks about women's bodies being able to avert pregnancy in cases of "legitimate rape."
The Farm Bureau's support is important for Akin because its membership spans every county in the state.

>> in cases of “legitimate rape.”
With respect to Obama’s claim his Christian Faith is “real and legitimate”, I’m confused about the controversy surrounding Akin’s use of the word.

What Bill Clinton did to Juanita Broaddrick...was that legitimate?
Perhaps someone should ask the chair of the Missouri Democrat Party.

Hi Christie:) my thoughts and prayers are with Allen in Virgina too. I know you have a battle on your hands. Wish I was back home to help my boy George Allen. LOL! sheesh what is it with the off the board comments by good men? I am from Virginia where Allen made the macaca comment and now in MO where another good conservative made a inane comment. Praying and rooting for both!

I would like to see Rasmussen run a poll on this race with the controversy now weeks old and has died down to see if there is any movement. I do not trust PPP’s motives after they ran that one poll which did a reverse skewing of the data in an apparent attempt to keep him in the race.

American men have been so beaten up on these "women's issues" by women that many men are afriad to talk about them for fear of offending some women.
Congressman Akin is no exception, especially if he is from an area where men still have too much respect to swear and curse around women! He probalby even still opens the door for women!

Thanks for finding and posting this article, Katie. Yes, I truly believe we are moving up and Todd will overcome the evil that has been unleashed on him. With God's blessings and the help of Missouri's supporters, this state will have a true conservative Senator elected come November 6th.

Evil Slayer:) if you have a minute...a group of us are emailing the National Republican Senatorial Committee and asking them to support our chosen candidate. It is political suicide to allow McCaskill a free reign. We got him on the map and now we are trying to get them to unite and send money to Akin. I told them that when they support Akin ..I will support them but not before that time. Here is the link and you can just type in a short message...pass it on friend.
