Today, ABC News/Washington Post released a poll showing a virtual dead heat between Obama and Romney.
The survey was conducted September 7-9 among adults with subsamples of registered and likely voters.
Obama does show a convention bounce gain among registered voters, with a 6% advantage over Romney. In other words, Obama has more support among voters who are probably not going to vote.
A more accurate assessment of likely voters have the candidates tied with no bounce: Obama registers with 49% of the vote and Romney at 48%.
Unfortunately, the topline results are based on a sample of registered voters, rather than likely voters, so important tactical questions about image, job approval and confidence are difficult to analyze. One thing is certain, this election is about GOTV efforts, as evidenced by Romney's 4% jump among likely voters. If Obama runs a successful ground game and turns out voters not inclined to head to the ballot box, he could take the election.

maybe the handwringing will stop.
DUD
“Obama has more support among voters who are probably not going to vote.”
Well that’s not helpful. :)
The ONLY DNC bounce was the relative %’s of dems verus republicans used in pollster samples - the raising of %’s of dems for a few days. The actual voter sentiment is a continuous slide away from zer0, as more indies get politically engaged.
Do turds bounce?
I voted for Obama in Maryland! |
I voted for Obama in Florida! |
I voted for Hillary in the other 55 states! |
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA more meaningless polls. The only one that really counts is held in November on election day
0 is a dud
As much as the DNC and media want to color this as a choice election about 2 candidates, it simply is not. It is a referendum on one person Obama. Republicans will be voting in larger numbers than usual to vote against Obama.Few are excited about Romney as he is viewed as more of a vessel to achieve their ends in getting rid of Obama than an agent of conservative change. That is why IMHO the RNC will get more bang for the buck if most of the war chest the RNC and Super PACs is spent on negative advertising vs Obama than positive advertising for Romney.
Spot on. For the life of me I can't figure out how any poll could show a swing "toward" our Dear Leader. Obama would have to buck ALL trends from the past 60 years. When the economy stinks, Americans send the bum packing; why would it be any different this time? I know the MSM is completely invested in Obama and it's not above them to manipulate the news/polls/discussion, but all the rosy talk in the world isn't going to convince enough people that things are fine.
LOL!
Thanks kingattax.
The MSM is totally invested in Baraq. Have been since Jan 08.
So there’s no turning back now when it comes to strategy.
If Baraq said his sh!t don’t stink, Stefanopolous, Shieffer, Blitzer, and Holt are gonna be telling us it smells like perfume.
doesn’t ABC know they’re supposed to keep polling until they get the right outcome?

Witness Drudge posting report of restaurant owner in
Florida begging people not to boycott him and come back
after being photographed hugging Zero
Few weeks back another business in Ohio had similiar
experience when outside was used in Zero ad
This tells me that people are comtempous of Zero, but will
smile and give the politically correct answer to avoid
being tagged as racist........
youre welcome
But the liberals have been saying how big a bounce Obama got, etc.. The liberals said people were inspired by his speech and Clinton’s speech to vote for Obama.........
The infamous Bradley effect.
