The building is said to have burnt down. It is thought nobody was in the consulate at the time.

U.S. AMBASSADOR TO LIBYA AND THREE OTHER STAFF MEMBERS KILLED IN THE ATTACK.
The U.S. Consulate team went to a ‘SECRET safe house’ THAT EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT, INCLUDING THE TERRORISTS. This is what happens when you work for and with LEAK-HAPPY LIBERALS.
There is something profoundly unsettling about the wording of that apology.
It subtly redefines the First Amendment to suggest that the controlling political regime can interpret that "universal right," which borders on treason. Treason agaist all the citizens of the Republic.
This "apology" appears to have been written by a pre-adolescent. You can't hurt beliefs. You can only hurt individuals, and then only if that hurt is not defined by the supposed victims.
The First Amendment Right is absolute. No attempt to reduce it in any manner is acceptable.
First thread I have found thus far posted on FR, announcing the terrorist attack in Benghazi.... The following was Hillary Clinton's first statement I can find thus far. Notice the time this thread was posted.

Statement by Secretary Clinton on the Attack in Benghazi
Press Statement
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
September 11, 2012
I condemn in the strongest terms the attack on our mission in Benghazi today. As we work to secure our personnel and facilities, we have confirmed that one of our State Department officers was killed. We are heartbroken by this terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those who have suffered in this attack.
This evening, I called Libyan President Magariaf to coordinate additional support to protect Americans in Libya. President Magariaf expressed his condemnation and condolences and pledged his governments full cooperation.
Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.
In light of the events of today, the United States government is working with partner countries around the world to protect our personnel, our missions, and American citizens worldwide.”

And notice all ready for publication this is found within the story:
“The film that sparked the demonstration is said to have been produced by a 52-year-old US citizen from California named Sam Bacile, and promoted by an expatriate Egyptian Copt.”

Strange now isn't it that immediately the State Department was pushing Sam Bacile’s ‘offensive video’.
I remember when I posted this, there was nothing yet from US Media. I was surprised that there was no post on FR. BBC and the French news agency was all over this. It was several hours before CNN had it in Breaking News.
