IF the Los Angeles banks go along with this insanity, they will be in violation of the Patriot Act. NO if’s, and’s or but’s....

I had my first bank account when I was about 17.

I am now almost 73.

When I moved from California to Nevada in 2005, I had to provide a proper birth certificate, a Soc Sec card & many other pieces of ID just to OPEN a new bank account. A utility bill wasn’t enough. Credit cards—membership cards in recognised organizations—voter registration....

I NEVER went thru such alot of effort for a bank account in the past, & I had had accounts in Middleton & Madison & Milwaukee, Wisconsin—multiple accounts in Los Angeles—and 2 different accounts in Grass Valley, Calif.

I had to provide a BIRTH CERTIFICATE-—not just proof that I was getting electric or water or cable TV services.

This is a direct violation of the Patriot Act...but then, who would expect the La Raza Mayor of Los Angeles to follow the laws the rest of us WHITE natural born citizens of the USA to follow?

I am sooooo PISSED!!!

Not disputing what you say but I've opened three separate accounts here in Vegas, two personal and one Corporate. (Citi and Wells Fargo)

The most I had to show for the personal accounts was a photo ID and for the Corporate account, ID + Articles.

I too moved from Cali though in 2000, not 2005, transferred my license without a hitch....registered to vote without any ID over the Internet.

I just opened a new bank account here in Maryland and only had to provide my driver’s license.
