The author of a new book charges that prominent Republican strategist Karl Rove advised the leader of breast cancer group Susan G. Komen for the Cure to restore funding to Planned Parenthood earlier this year.
Roves advice, according to Planned Bullyhood, came as Susan G. Komen for the Cure found itself embroiled in a public relations fiasco after announcing it would stop giving money to Planned Parenthood, which has clinics that perform abortions.
In response to protests from pro-choice and other liberal activists, Komen eventually reversed course and announced it would restore funding to Planned Parenthood as the organization did not want to be viewed as political.
Karen Handel the former Komen senior vice president who resigned during the episode writes in her book, Planned Bullyhood, that Rove was among those advising the organization to reverse course.
In the book, Handel recalls Susan G. Komen for the Cure CEO Nancy Brinker telling her that Ive talked to a lot of people. And even Karl says we have to backtrack.
Handel, who said she didnt know who Karl was at first, recalls Brinker clarifying that she was talking about Rove.
Planned Bullyhood is being released Tuesday. Steven Ertelt of LifeNews.com reported the revelation in the book on Monday.
If the allegation is true, it would mean that Rove was advising Komen to restore Planned Parenthood funding as Mitt Romney and the other Republican candidates for president were railing against it.
Rove did not immediately return a request for comment from The Daily Caller.
But why? To what end and benefit for him? Politics: thy name is filth.
..dang!
RINO’s in the GOPe are not on our side people.
All praise Romney and the munificent GOP establishment. *Barf*
Bah, Rove is a Rino. He embodies the establishment. Let’s be honest. The money is all we use him for. When was the last time we asked Rove for an idea?
Is this a surprise?
Just ducky...
Karl Rove is such a dick.
to think folks here used to think he walked on water...like Colin Powell or Condi
not me buddy
i knew right away that bunch were race and sex baiting moderates at best
had Bush not had a war he woulda been trashed by conservatives much quicker
just look at Laura..a genteel lady no doubt...but a social liberal just like the daughters she raised
you just cannot be a strong values conservative and marry someone like that and have kids turn out so lefty if you are not soft
or very unlucky...with the kids that is..it ain’t just kid rebellion...the one is NYC is hardcore lefty on social issues
the Romney family...hard as it is to believe may actually be more socially conservative overall...once you get past Mitt’s convictions of sand

The Rove name has a knack for turning up in less than honorable places.
But hey...his PAC has LOTS of money...
That's right GOPanne
Honestly, if this brazen departure from the deepest
of conservative values he inferred he had by his
intimate affiliations, especially with Pres. Bush,
who’s deeply pro life ... yes.
The man obviously must be completely unscrupulous ..
just another hack makin’ jack off the game, playing
both sides. Disgusting ..
May he reap the whirlwind ..
If true is the key word here, so far I see nothing but hearsay.
I was 'secular' until the Clintons ruled US. One can look back since our founding there has always been a satanic force lurking. Last century is when Christian America in majority, turned away from following the Creator and began to look to government as their source of survival.
It is surreal to watch day in and day out as the 4 pillars of any civil society, politics, economy, education, and religion become the very tools by which evil forces are using to destroy US.
The Rove/Romney/Rockefeller party.
PELLEY: Well, the platform as written at this convention for the Republicans does not allow for exceptions on abortion with regard to the health of the mother or rape or incest. Is that where you are?
ROMNEY: No. My position has been clear throughout this campaign. Im in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother.
I think to get a head on this issue in a more cunning way we have to:
1. Agree that it is settled law.
2. Change the language from abort to killing/extinguishing the child.
3. Do and communicate extensive research on how aborting/killing/extinguishing the child affects the mother years after the aborting/killing/extinguishing of the child has occurred.
4. Smile and agree that the mother today can chose to abort/extinguish/kill her child but it is a shame that the child cannot chose to live, under today's law. It is a shame that millions of mothers chose death instead of life, but say it with a wistful empathetic smile.
5. Liberal Billionaires and Millionaires, through charity, should fund the abortions instead of the American Tax Payer.
I don’t think he’s “Pro Abortion”. What he is is an absolute political coward. For whatever reason he always seeks the easy way out. Following his advice will lead to disaster after Romney/Ryan win. The Rom/Ry ticket needs to stay focused on tax reform and states rights. The RNC needs to find a way to get Rove retired and to STFU.
Daily Caller and book review writer Alex Pappas' tweets make Alex Pappas appear to be some kind of a leftist liberal. It would be classic liberal strategy for a liberal to toss out even more negatives about Karl Rove during this contentious time and run-up to an election where some conservatives wish for Obama to move into a new residence in January 2013. Yet many times it seems that taking it on the chin is what conservatives do best.
The book may in fact be completely factual. However it is well documented that libs are playing both ends against the middle, namely us. Reading and believing anything written by a leftist at this time is risky, in my opinion, anyway.
It's odd though that leftist Huffington Post's review of the book contained no mention of Karl Rove:
Huffington Post: 'Planned Bullyhood': Karen Handel Blames Komen Backlash On Planned Parenthood in Memoir
It's possible that leftist Alex Pappas wrote a straight book review about a book which includes only the truth and revelations of atrocities committed by Karl Rove, but this conservative sure wouldn't count on it.
Below is a link to an uploaded photo sent to Alex Pappas on twitter from one of his friends, with part of the url reading "honey-pot-homocon."
