"I think these are encouraging numbers. " New Mexico is more conservative than people think. The state is over 50% Hispanic, but lots of Republicans have been elected there (including Governor Susana Martinez), and while Hispanics in NM lean Dem, they are definitely social conservatives, and can be persuaded to come over. The Hispanic population in New Mexico is VERY DIFFERENT from California. It has to be remembered that when the US won the war with Mexico in 1848, the New Mexicans WELCOMED the US arrival.

I’ve felt that New Mexico is inching towards being more competitive for Republicans. The power of the dems is diminishing in the state legislature and I hope it continues.

I am a bit worried about the senate race. It should be a lot easier to beat Heinrich. The guy is a loon. Wilson needs to go all out. She literally has nothing left to lose.
