SPARTANBURG, S.C. Authorities in Spartanburg arrested a woman Sunday who is accused of pointing a gun at a U.S. congressman
Police said they arrested the woman after she approached U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy while he was sitting in his vehicle in a church parking lot.
According to the arrest warrant, 52-year-old Gloria Brackett pointed a gun at Gowdy because she felt he was following her.
The report states Gowdy repeatedly told her he was not following her. It goes on to say Gowdy told the woman he was parked outside the First Baptist Church in Spartanburg waiting for his daughter to come out from a church service.

Weapon stolen from relative.
Ya think? This woman is clearly not the type who should be carrying a gun.
She's a fellow citizen, Laz, and if she has cause, I'm with her. Could be his car might have been behind hers at the last stoplight. Congressman or no, license or no, he might think of moving.
But if he was there first, and she thought he was "following her" (highly improbable in this case), he prevails as to rights, but again, argue with someone who has the drop but is not robbing you? Get smart.
Though, apparently she has a very high opinion of her desirability, but a conundrum of what to do about it, Laz --
just a thought --
Obama’s daughter? Obama’s sister?
Just guessing that many cars do look alike these days. She could have saw one of the same type earlier and thought it was him. Or coincidentally saw him earlier like when he dropped his daughter off at church.
Georgia, could you please keep your nutbars at home? We have plenty of our own.
Schizophrenia?
Schizo-phrene. In most cases, it does not last.
You sound a little trigger happy. There’s no indication she was in a vehicle, the Congressman has a right to park in a convenient location to pick his daughter up when she leaves the church and there was no mention of menacing activities on his part. Sounds like this “lady” imagines a lot of things.
“Do you think Lindsay will have a primary in 2014, and which one of your great GOP congressmen will take him on?”
Thou wouldst fain sticketh a dagger in my heart’s deepest chamber, good sir!
Little Lord Flimsey Tinkerbelle Lightloafers is this state’s biggest embarrassment or maybe it’s James Clyburn.
I don’t know, I just don’t know the answer to your question.
Wow dangerous town.
Oh come on people! Who here amongst us hasn’t wanted to pull a gun on a congress critter at one time or another?
:)
Sounds like this lady imagines a lot of things.
You may be right on both points. >>>>>>>>>>>
I popped off before reading the whole article -- you are right in this case.
This citizen needs a restraining influence. I see the Congressman ceased "following" her. Whoo-eee! So would I, carrying or not, no need to 'stand your ground' here if you can get out with your skin and no holes in it.
