If Obama wins this thing we need to completely clean house in the Republican Establishment - once again a squishy centrist country club Republican will be shown to be the wrong type to go against a Chicago gangster. Ryan on top would have been better, West vs Obama? A first round knockout for West, just like Tyson over Spinks.

That means you Rove and you Coulter and you Boehner, etc.

Time to channel Bluto . . .

What makes you think that the GOP-E did not WANT to lose?

A first round knockout for West, just like Tyson over Spinks.

You know I really dislike Mike Tyson. Not just for being a idiot and a thug and beating on woman, and being a convicted rapist, but he was a thug boxer too. A first round knock out specialist, whose most famous punch was biting off his opponents ear. Gag!

He met his match with Lennox Lewis, the defending heavyweight champion and a real gentleman met him in the ring to defend his title. Lewis, not one to boast, said in the pre-fight that he hoped to help Tyson retire by beating him, and thus improve the boxing game.

On January 22, 2002, a brawl involving the two boxers and their entourages occurred at a press conference held in New York to publicise the bout.

Tyson went on stage at the Hudson Theatre and stared in the direction of where Lewis was to appear. As soon as Lewis appeared, Tyson quickly walked toward him and appeared to be about to assault Lewis. One of Lewis’ bodyguards attempted to block Tyson's access to Lewis before Tyson threw a left hook in the bodyguard's direction. The two boxers rolled on the floor with personnel from both camps getting involved.

During the melee WBC president José Sulaimán claimed to be knocked out when he hit his head on the table. He later filed a US$56 million lawsuit against Lewis and Tyson for injuries caused in the scuffle. Sulaiman claims he was spat on and Tyson threatened to kill him, when he got up after being knocked out.[6]

Tyson later admitted to biting Lewis' leg and had to pay him US$335,000.

Following the brawl Tyson came to the edge of the podium, and issued a several minute-long profanity-laden tirade towards freelance journalist Mark Malinowski, who suggested that Tyson should be put in a straitjacket. Tyson punctuated his oration by vowing to introduce Malinowski to the concept of prison romance.[7][8][9]

The brawl at the press conference for this fight was named The Ring magazine Event of the Year for 2002.

All of which made this one of my favorite rounds of boxing ever! Lewis' 8th Round KO of Mike Tyson It's nice to see Mike with both eyes cut, his nose bleeding, flat on his back, wondering WTF just happened ... if there is a Tyson of politics, it's now West, who is an officer and a gentleman.

Despite hating Mike I will admit he was a great boxer in his prime. I've even seen him rated #1 of all time in some lists, so I can't take that from him. But, especially in sports, character counts. So I would never rate him that high.
