I didn’t check this myself, but I heard a host on the radio this morning saying that at this point in the 1988 campaign, Dukkakis had a 17 point lead in national polls over George H.W. Bush. Take these polls now with a grain of salt; there’s still a lot of campaign left.

Was 50% of the population receiving some form of government subsidy back in 1988? Food stamps/EBT cards, welfare, "disability", etc.?

Obama and the 'RATs have designed it so more people are receiving gov't freebies and thus will vote to continue/increase those freebies. We will find out on November 6th if he was successful. (God help us, I hope he's not)

I'm NOT "giving up", but the reality is we have a far different electorate now than back in 1988...
