I used to head a school choice advocacy group, so I have a lot of stats rattling around,in my head.

One memorable stat: The number of administrators in the Washington D.C. govt schools is 100 times greater than in the D.C. parochial schools (measured per pupil).

And get this. The average cost per pupil in most cities is $15-20k per year.

If I gave you $400k to educate 20 kids next year, do you think you could outperform these hard working teachers?

Having been a teacher many years ago, albeit for a very short period of time, I have not doubt about my ability to “outperform.”
