TOWSON, Md. (WJZ)– A controversial proposal from a Towson University student is opening up old wounds. A student organization is planning to start a “White Student Union”.
Matthew Heimbach’s reasoning can be found in the college newspaper where he says white students deserve an exclusive club only for them.
Inside this week’s Towson University newspaper, Heimbach is seen holding a Confederate flag in front of Martin Luther King Jr.’s church in Montgomery, Ala. He says: “We want to replicate what every student union does on campus.”
His solution: Start a White Student Union.
“I don’t know why anyone would want to start that. It doesn’t really make sense,” Kelsey Ports, a junior at Towson University, said.
In the article, Heimbach says there is a black student union that promotes their heroes and he wants to do the same.

“If inclusiveness is not the plan, then it will not be recognized by the Student Government Association,” Dr. Teri Hall, vice president of Student Affairs at Towson University, said.
Knowing nothing (and caring less) about this Matthew Heimbach, or his motives (because they are, in principle, irrelevant to the discussion), I have to point out the utter absurdity of the above comments. Only in Bizarro land would the same reasoning they employ not be applied to the black student group, or any other ethnic based group. Of which I am willing to bet there are on campus.
Does the black group openly court & admit whites?
Does the Arab group openly court & admit Jews?
The female groups, the sororities, fraternities.....
And so on, ad absurdium........Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
Good for him! Hope he has a good lawyer if they deny him the same privileges everyone else has.
That should ruffle a few feathers..
Towson State is a Babe school. the girls outnumber the boys.
So I guess it only opens “old wounds” if it’s a white club. Black, Asian, Hispanic, muslim, gay..... Those are all ok I suppose.
Of course the Blacks will sue to get the secret decoder ring.

When I was in a state school in the early 90s recruiters from the large accounting firms would come to speak to “NABA” (National Association of Black Accountants) rather than the larger, open-to-all Accounting Society.
I am supposed to believe Muslims are a worse enemy than those who would deny my sons (and myself) an education and the means to earn a living.

Females make up 59% of our college classes; I think most schools would fit that description. They were concerned that if it reached 60% affirmative action for females would end (because 59% was so much more acceptable). I guess the women should be learning how to pay their way in the world, as there is a lack of males capable of earning a living that they can marry and raise a family with. The men, in the meantime, simply play video games well into their forties, with the same lack of responsibilities as their urban welfare counterparts (without the welfare babies).
Ideas have consequences.
“White” is a racist term.
