In the Piece Of Legislation That Had To Be Read After It Was Passed, there were a few sane-ish things such as allowing insurance to be shopped across state lines. That’s what Mitt is talking about here. This is also almost certainly going to get put in a new bill. The Gordian Knot we got needs to be not just cut but burned.
In an interview today, he said that he would be in favor of keeping kids on the policy until they are ___.
If the age is over 21, this is liberalism/RINOism at it’s best.
....and it’s nothing new.
I think Boehner and Cantor said there were some things in Obamacare that were worthwhile.
I agree, and one other part of the ACA that needs to continue is enabling some way for people with pre-existing conditions to buy health insurance. That is a sound idea, because people who develop a medical problem while employed and then lose their jobs need to be able to buy health insurance if they can’t find another job fairly quickly or they want to start their own business. Insurance has to cost substantially more for people with pre-existing conditions, otherwise there’s not enough incentive for healthy people to buy insurance, but there has to be some way for people with health problems to buy insurance, otherwise people who lost their jobs and health insurance could easily go bankrupt trying to pay all their medical bills without insurance.
That said, most of the Obamacare law should be scrapped, because it grabs too much power and control over the health care system, centralizes power in Washington, and takes away all freedom of choice about what kind of health insurance people can buy.
