"Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I'm going to put in place," he said in an interview broadcast Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." ''One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage."
Romney also said he would allow young adults to keep their coverage under their parents' health-insurance.
Those provisions have been two of the more popular parts of Obama's Affordable Care Act.
"I say we're going to replace Obamacare. And I'm replacing it with my own plan," Romney said. "And even in Massachusetts when I was governor, our plan there deals with pre-existing conditions and with young people."

The guy thinks like a manager, but not from first principles.
I'm still voting for him, but damn!
nobody will insure if pre-existing conditions must be paid for. this guy is an ass.
Yeah I too will vote for him knowing full well that under Romney government will continue to grow and we will still be headed to hell on earth. What a choice.
Yup...he thinks he got the conservative vote locked up. Now he’s going to the mushy middle and slightly left of middle....which is where he’ll govern from.
Face palm...
To the headline: I am not surprised.
Romney has said this before and his advisers have said he is not going to repeal obamacare.
How anyone is shocked by this is a mystery.
So much for holding his feet to the fire.
Hey Mitt - When your opponent is losing the argument SHUT UP.
So much for being able to hold his feet to the fire.
What an idiotic thing to agree with. Pre existing conditions coverage spells doom in any capacity for any insurance company. Is it possible he says this kind of moronic babble because he’s talking to a bunch of libtards and he wants a positive spin on his interview? Maybe he doesn’t mean it? Nah. Wishful thinking I guess.
No one who has paid any attention at all will be surprised by this. Government forcing individuals, doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies to do whatever government wants. That’s Romneycare in a nutshell—including taxpayer funded abortions and sex change operations requested by jailed criminals—like it or not.
Well, that will hold his feet to the fire.
You know Romney ****** *******
The insurance companies have already said they would keep
that provision if Obamacare is repealed.
Republicans don’t know how to play the game.
They are not smart in politics.
They don’t know how to communicate.
The whole point is why does the federal government CONTROL
the health insurance companies in what they can offer?
THEY MUST OFFER IT, or probably get a hefty lawsuit/fine from the
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
ROmney you SUCK
In the interview, Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, also said he would offset his proposed tax cuts by closing loopholes for high income taxpayers.
"We're not going to have high-income people pay less of the tax burden than they pay today. That's not what's going to happen," he said.
"I can tell you that people at the high end, high-income taxpayers, are going to have fewer deductions and exemptions. Those numbers are going to come down. Otherwise they'd get a tax break. And I want to make sure people understand, despite what the Democrats said at their convention, I am not reducing taxes on high-income taxpayers," Romney said.
Romney makes decision based on the given tide. He wants to be liked by everyone and thus becomes submissive. That is not the definition of a leader. May God help us.
Any way you slice it, we’re screwed.
Any way you slice it, we’re screwed.
These two provisions are already enacted are the cost falls on the end-user, not the government. I hope they create a provision that places these people in a unique pool and that, if I purchase private care, I can opt out of it and keep my costs lower. I hope they enact tort reform and I want to see them enable state-to-state portability and HSA flexibility too. If there is a plan in NC that pays better and doesn’t offer coverage to 26yo slackers and sex changes, I should be able to buy that.
The largest part of Obamacare, the mandate is what people most closely associate with, will be overturned no doubt but there will be parts of the legislation that will stay in place because they have already been enacted. That bell has already been rung and all the bitching, moaning and name calling won’t change that fact.
I am sure the last few days Obama is taking notes to add to his debate. Romney going to have hard time explaining his position.
Romney said many times during the primary process, I want to tax the 1% more.
Romney said many times during the primary process, I like much of obamacare.
He’s the candidate, it’s just irritating so many people fell for the GOPe line “he’s the only guy who can beat obama”.to so
Anxiously awaiting the Free Republic Romney Etatist Protection Team to calm the storm of “Collectivist Romney” mispeak or whatever this guy said and make sure all is well because the other guy “sucks worse” (Or something like that). Man America is so screwed...either way.
