They are not dropping out altogether. They are being caught/ensnared in the safety net.

In all sincerity thanks so much for the charts. (They added to my ignorance in ways that can’t be MEASURED.)

I would ask, though:

If someone was disabled how did they get in the “workforce” in the first place? When the phrase “dropped out of the workforce” is used by the media, it is implied that the act was voluntary. Like, “Bought a new computer online.”

—Transitive verb linked to specific subject (person—many persons really) who nevertheless can’t be found while Dems are in office.—

Did the people actually THINK they could work and then somebody said they can’t and ONLY THEN did they actively and with forethought “drop out of the workforce?”

And if they DID work how come they can’t again? What is so disabling that they not only DON’T have a job but CAN’T be listed as someone who MIGHT have a job?

Are you by any chance saying they are slackers who simply don’t WANT to work and have found they can get SSI instead? (You know, I’m trying to think highly of these people who “dropped out of the workforce” but...)

How are such people IN the “unemployment rate” one day and gone the next if this is true? And why aren’t they called “Slackers” instead of people who “dropped out of the workforce”—??

You know, I will say this—

I can understand why the media would have a hard time finding Slackers. (Does this make me a bad person?)

kabar thanks for the charts & info....J.P. Getty predicted the downfall in “As i see it” written during the Gerald Ford years, his writings regarding ecomonomics was brilliant.

He said there was no way N.Y. city could sustain 300,000 Gov. employees over time, he said the Country will go bankrupt eventually.
