Of course, if there is seriously any nationwide effort to confiscate guns under consideration, it wouldn’t surprise me to see plans where all the families of cops, National Guardsmen and Active Duty Military moved into safe, on base, guarded dependent housing just prior to the commencement of any effort at massive nationwide gun confiscation.
To be kept safe or as hostages for good behavior?
Very good question. I myself would say more as hostages for good behavior than for any real concerns for their safety and to ensure they (law enforcement/military) did their full duty when it came to national gun confiscation efforts and ensure that they do not either desert their posts/fail to show up for work or refuse any and all orders to confiscate the guns of private citizens, like what may happen if their dependents had been taken into custody by 'Patriot' groups and they knew bad things could happen to their loved ones if they continue following orders concerning gun confiscation.
