The black community has more unplanned pregnancies which leads to a higher abortion rate.

More prevention of unplanned pregnacies , more birth control and the abortion rate would plummet.

"... more birth control and the abortion rate would plummet."

I wonder if you have any numbers to back up that assertion? I'm sincerely looking for any kind of factual evidence, because it contradicts how things actually play out.

Case in point: Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the U.S. in 1916 in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn. At that time the abortion rate was about 17%, and the non-marital birthrate was 10%.

Now, Brooklyn is awash in contraceptives, there are dozens of places you can get them for free including schools and Public Health offices and clinics, and probably hundreds (drugstores, groceries) where you can get them cheap, as in 33 cents for a condom,$9 for a month/cycle of hormonal OC's; and the abortion rate is 41% and the out-of-wedlock birthrate has been between a few %age points of 50%, 62% and 75% (white, Hispanic, black) for over thirty years.

It's pretty well documented for 25 years that contraceptive ubiquity yields more non-marital births as a percent of the total (check it out (Link).

The more-reliable forms of long-term hormonal contraception --- implants, transdermals, injectables -- do result in a lower birthrate, but they almost always come with a huge increase in STI's. A matter of some concern since there's now cephalosporin-resistant gonorrhea out there in 27 states which is going to result in chronic disease, disability and deaths.

It's not working.

Really.
