I agree, bravo for the good bishop. Still, I think dilution of the Faith by asking too little of the faithful can make us lukewarm. When Lent is reduced to fasting on Fridays, where “fasting” means a meal and two smaller meals, we have lost its purpose by not wanting to inconvenience people too much. I have heard people actually say they admire Islam because at least its adherents actively practice their religion. They have a point. Maybe we should bring back the Liturgy of the Hours.
