Using your house analogy, more accurately IMHO:

Is it better, when there is some termite damage in the house, to take out the rotten timbers, replace with new wood, and apply Timbor to kill the remaining termites?

Or burn it to the ground, bulldoze the smoking ruin aside, and hope to build a better one after?

Any rational person sees that the first choice is the rational choice. Fire may not stop with the house, the trees may catch, all the landscaping, maybe even the garage, and precious belongings will burn, along with the still useful parts of the house. You’ll be homeless for a long time, too.

Use your brain.

I never suggested burning the house down. Using your termite example, no preventative or repairs will be done as long as the homeowner refuses to believe there is a problem. After all they are small, they only do a little damage, you can still live in the house with them that is till the roof falls in.
