Krauthammer On Obama: "One Of The Emptiest Speeches I Have Ever Heard" (video)
RealClearPolitics ^ | September 6, 2012 | Ian Schwartz

Charles Krauthammer on President Obama's convention speech: "I was stunned. This is a man who gave one of the great speeches of our time in 2004. And he gave one of the emptiest speeches I have ever heard on a national stage. Yes it had cadence, and yes, there were deceptions in it, but that is not what is so striking about it. There was nothing in it. This is a man who believes that government can and should do a lot. There's nothing here that tells us how he's going to go from today to tomorrow."

i no give speeches. Except in Maine.

But i would say to the right, get to work on electing minor league candidates to give us a deep bench for future. A good draft year by the Washington Nationals in '09 led to this championship season. could I inspire y'all to make it happen. NO. NO. No, a thousands times. Y'all are mostly all talk and no action and I know it so I don't beleive in you.

These are pretty telling quotes:

Joe Biden – without the auto bailout they would have “liquidated” 1 million jobs.

By the way, Gabby Gifford sounded better than Job Biden. To be chartable, Joe could have benefit from a few more hours of sleep.

Now remember, ObaMao worked for ACORN and participated in one of the first major lawsuits to force lenders to give money to people to buy home that they could not afford. This started the snowball rolling down the mountain...

ObaMao (barf alert):

"It will be a choice between two different paths for America."

"I ran for President because I saw that basic bargain slipping away. I began my career helping people in the shadow of a shuttered steel mill, at a time when too many good jobs were starting to move overseas. And by 2008, we had seen nearly a decade in which families struggled with costs that kept rising but paychecks that didn’t; racking up more and more debt just to make the mortgage or pay tuition; to put gas in the car or food on the table. And when the house of cards collapsed in the Great Recession, millions of innocent Americans lost their jobs, their homes, and their life savings – a tragedy from which we are still fighting to recover. "

"And that’s because all they have to offer is the same prescription they’ve had for the last thirty years:
“Have a surplus? Try a tax cut.”
“Deficit too high? Try another.”
“Feel a cold coming on? Take two tax cuts, roll back some regulations, and call us in the morning!”

Now, I’ve cut taxes for those who need it – middle-class families and small businesses. But I don’t believe that another round of tax breaks for millionaires will bring good jobs to our shores, or pay down our deficit. I don’t believe that firing teachers or kicking students off financial aid will grow the economy, or help us compete with the scientists and engineers coming out of China. After all that we’ve been through, I don’t believe that rolling back regulations on Wall Street will help the small businesswoman expand, or the laid-off construction worker keep his home. We’ve been there, we’ve tried that, and we’re not going back. We’re moving forward. "

"we can give more tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas, or we can start rewarding companies that open new plants and train new workers and create new jobs here, in the United States of America."

"We’ve opened millions of new acres for oil and gas exploration in the last three years, and we’ll open more. But unlike my opponent, I will not let oil companies write this country’s energy plan, or endanger our coastlines, or collect another $4 billion in corporate welfare from our taxpayers."

"Millions of students are paying less for college today because we finally took on a system that wasted billions of taxpayer dollars on banks and lenders.

And now you have a choice – we can gut education, or we can decide that in the United States of America, no child should have her dreams deferred because of a crowded classroom or a crumbling school. No family should have to set aside a college acceptance letter because they don’t have the money."

"We’ve blunted the Taliban’s momentum in Afghanistan, and in 2014, our longest war will be over. "

"I refuse to ask middle class families to give up their deductions for owning a home or raising their kids just to pay for another millionaire’s tax cut. I refuse to ask students to pay more for college."

"And I will never turn Medicare into a voucher. No American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies. They should retire with the care and dignity they have earned. Yes, we will reform and strengthen Medicare for the long haul, but we’ll do it by reducing the cost of health care – not by asking seniors to pay thousands of dollars more. And we will keep the promise of Social Security by taking the responsible steps to strengthen it – not by turning it over to Wall Street."

"Over and over, we have been told by our opponents that bigger tax cuts and fewer regulations are the only way; that since government can’t do everything, it should do almost nothing. If you can’t afford health insurance, hope that you don’t get sick. If a company releases toxic pollution into the air your children breathe, well, that’s just the price of progress. If you can’t afford to start a business or go to college, take my opponent’s advice and “borrow money from your parents."

"We insist on personal responsibility and we celebrate individual initiative. We’re not entitled to success. We have to earn it. We honor the strivers, the dreamers, the risk-takers who have always been the driving force behind our free enterprise system – the greatest engine of growth and prosperity the world has ever known.

But we also believe in something called citizenship – a word at the very heart of our founding, at the very essence of our democracy; the idea that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another, and to future generations. "

"We believe that when a family can no longer be tricked into signing a mortgage they can’t afford, that family is protected, but so is the value of other people’s homes, and so is the entire economy. "

"We know that churches and charities can often make more of a difference than a poverty program alone. We don’t want handouts for people who refuse to help themselves, and we don’t want bailouts for banks that break the rules. We don’t think government can solve all our problems. But we don’t think that government is the source of all our problems – any more than are welfare recipients, or corporations, or unions, or immigrants, or gays, or any other group we’re told to blame for our troubles."

"Washington politicians who want to decide who you can marry, or control health care choices that women should make for themselves. "

"I’m the President."

Done with you. There is ignorance which can be corrected or assisted. For instance, if you do have dyslexia, a spell check COULD help your posts be much more understandable to those with whom you seek to communicate.

The reason people are jumping on you is because you make yourself look more ignorant than you might actually be. People are actually trying to help you by pointing out that you are not displaying yourself in your best light. Keep writing in an illiterate fashion, and people will just blow you off as someone poorly educated and not worth listening to.

Is a teacher who lets a kid speak ‘ebonics’ doing the kid a favor by not correcting him? When the kid gets to be 18 and suddenly find he can’t get a job because he says things like ‘Me and Jake wuz obber dere woofin.’ This kid will say ‘why peeps be rachists and dat, dey doan liek me ‘cuz I is black.’ When the truth is he can’t get a job because he won’t be able to communicate with the customers who need to know what the hell the kid is attempting to say.

Then there is invincible ignorance. You have it. Pig headed and down right stupid. You can correct ignorance. You can’t fix stupid.

“perhaps not pete- but some just don’t appreciate snide rude little people either- what the hell is wrong with you people here on FR? Are you that bloodthirsty that anytime someoen with aq defect shows up you all go for the jugular”

You don’t have any defects. You just need to take the time to use a spell checker and think things through before you hit the submit button. If you are not willing to make the extra effort to make yourself more presentable then you don’t have the right to complain about the consequences.

It’s like a guy who shows up to a job interview with an unshaved face, shirt untucked, etc and wonders why he didn’t get the job.

[[What’s always amazing is the sympathy for the fool who thinks that it’s his opinion that’s important not how he presents it.]]

Now your gettign very personal and disrespectful- Your petty little insults before were tolorable- but now your rudeness and insults have ruisen to a level of nastiness that one expects fro mthe left- not from the right- I don’t know what your problem is, but it seems your a pretty bitter person if you have to berate someone continually because htey aren’t as perfect as you think they should be- and I’ll say it again- if you’re the new faqce of the new right- then it’s pretty evident the right has sadly sunk to new lows!

In my mind I can see Obama as an abusive husband explaining to his tearful wife, with her black eye and busted lip, that he needs more time to finish the job. He may not be abusing Michelle, but he’s definitely abusing the rest of us!

That’s the Clinton Third Way.

And the radical Left is hopping mad because that’s not what they wanted to hear.

But they know in their hearts - the speech they wanted Obama to give would have been political suicide.

He’s many things but the President is far from being as many Freepers mistakenly assume, an idiot! He knows how read the political winds better than a lot of politicians.

And what he gave - he just has to hope things break his way by November and two months is an eternity in the American political calendar.

Bwahahahaha,

Talking to a tree stump and wondering why the tree makes no sense, and spells bad, and generally talks out of it's knothole.

So, who is the less than optimally endowed with the correct number of and functioning neurons?

You want people to take you seriously?

Really?

[[You don’t have any defects. You just need to take the time to use a spell checker and think things through before you hit the submit button]]

With all due respect- I don’t need to do anything- As I’ve said, you are free to either read my posts or ignore them- I’ll write the way I want when I want, how I want and if noone cares tro read them I could care less- I am however however saddened by the fact that peopel on here think it necessary to berate someone over omethign as petty as spelling

[[It’s like a guy who shows up to a job interview with an unshaved face, shirt untucked, etc and wonders why he didn’t get the job.]]

Eventually he will get a job, and those that hire that person will come to realize they made hte right choice instead of prejudging based on petty things like appearance- Wghat’s pissing everyoen off apaprently is the fact that I don’t conform to THEIR standards- and if i won’t=- then wow- look out- the nastiness coems flying out liek one would expect from a site like huffington post or something-

Ya’ll are judging me for a splibnter in my eye (for spelling no less), when the big nasty plank in your own etye goes unoticed apaparently- or worse yet, when ya’ll try to justify the big nasty plank in your own eye or simply flat out deny it’s there-!

[[ then you don’t have the right to complain about the consequences.]]

I do have a right to complain about rudeness and nastiness- and if that’s not alright with ya’ll- then too bad- you all certainly have not been shy about being rude- I’ll not be shy about pointing out how rude and disrespectful you’ve become here on FR lately-
