The economy that President Barack Obama inherited from Republicans was “a total mess” and he needs another four years in the White House to finishing fixing it, former President Bill Clinton argued Wednesday in his prime time speech at the Democratic National Convention.
The 42nd president of the United States commanded the DNC crowd, framing the upcoming November election as a clear choice between Obama, who he argued would bring “shared prosperity,” and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
“My fellow Americans, you have to decide what kind of country you want to live in,” Clinton explained. “If you want a you’re-on-your-own, winner-take-all society, you should support the Republican ticket. If you want a country of shared prosperity and shared responsibility — a we’re-all-in-this-together society — you should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.”
Clinton said the GOP’s campaign argument is “pretty simple: ‘We left him a total mess, he hasn’t cleaned it up yet, so fire him and put us back in.’“ He also said Republicans live in an ”alternate universe.”
“I like the argument for President Barack Obama’s re-election a lot better,” Clinton said.
“Here it is: He inherited a deeply damaged economy, put a floor under the crash, he began a long hard road to recovery and laid the foundation for a modern, more well-balanced economy that will produce millions of good new jobs, vibrant new businesses and lots of new wealth for innovators.”

By the way, did the audience actually watch this guy without remembering that he was impeached and disabarred for lying in court and to a grand jury, had an affair with an intern young enough to be his daughter, jerked off in the Oval Office sink, dropped his pants and told Paula Jones to “kiss it”, and raped Juanita Broaddrick?
Whatever... With those credentials, Clinton was definitely the perfect choice for “keynote speaker” at the Democrat convention.
I ain't never had trouble prospering, all it took was work, sometimes hard work, 60 hours a week or more.
Tell that to many in this country and they look at you like you're crazy.
Every single word and sentence out of his mouth was codespeak advocating communism.
We will not share with the weak, the lazy, the stupid.
If they cannot stand the heat in the kitchen then get the hell out of it and leave the professionals alone.
BTW, Clinton did a pretty good speech, and I think it will actually make more people vote for the GOP, because Clinton did America a favor. Just my two cents. I think Clinton actually may have broken the Obama hypnosis.

We did not leave a mess... Democrats made that mess as much as anyone else, and its not Obama hasnt cleaned it up. He made it worse.
Exactly. Modern lefties, except for the absolute bitter clingers, have accepted the fact that socialism is a failure when it comes to production. So they’ve dropped back a trench and shifted their focus to redistribution. They let the greedy capitalists do the hard work of actually making stuff. Then they snatch the stuff away, denounce the capitalists as bastards, and hand it out to the adoring pipples in exchange for their vote, which gives them the power to continue the cycle. It’s a pretty clever racket really. And the cleverest twist is that they’ve gotten many of the capitalists in on it.
Sigh.
