The number is down from 8.3% to 8.1%... because almost 400,000 people quit looking for work! So now you know, it is possible to get that number under 8% and still come out smelling bad. I think if it happens like that, the media will tell the truth (for half a day) and then stop talking about it while DWS will shrill about how great it is that O got the unemployment rate down.
