We don’t use much oil to produce electricity. Somewhere around one to three percent of our generation is from oil.

We use coal (50%), gas (20%), nuclear (20%) and hydro (7%) to produce electricity.

Oil is mainly for transportation.

I find it hilarious that the very liberal Northeast is one of the only developed places on Earth where oil is used for heating. This is one of the most idiotic uses for oil that I can think of in the modern era - it should have been banned 40 years ago.
