Barack and Michelle dated for three years before they were married. They met in 1989 at a downtown Chicago law firm where Michelle was working as an attorney. She was assigned to be an advisor to a summer associate from Harvard named Barack Obama. Barack wore a black suit with a white rose boutonniere. His best man was his half-brother, Malik Obama, who lives in Kenya. In keeping with Baracks Kenyan roots, some of the guests, including Malik, wore traditional African dress. The couple was married by Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. in a traditional Christian ceremony. Following the vows, a reception was held at the South Shore Cultural Center, a run-down formerly all-white Country Club. The couple left on their honeymoon along the coast of California in the days that followed. ************* Doesn't seem so derelict to me.

This is an odd picture. Most wedding pictures have the bride and groom in the middle surrounded by family members.

Is that his mom next to him? She certainly gained weight in later years.
I will admit, that looks like a nice wedding gown. Michelle’s taste is usually so awful, I’m surprised.

“Barack and Michelle dated for three years before they were married. They met in 1989 at a downtown Chicago law firm where Michelle was working as an attorney.”
I still think that is a lie, since Michelle and Barry attended Harvard at the same time he did, and they both moved in the same relatively small circle of black radicals, being mentored by the same black radical law professors, who helped them both get a job at the same law firm. To think that they never met before Obama came to Sidley & Austin, while he was giving speeches supporting the same professors that Michelle was holding sit ins to support, is just too much of a stretch.
