TheBlaze, Glenn Becks news, information, entertainment, and e-commerce network announced today TheBlaze Radio Network, a brand-new online radio channel. TheBlaze Radio Network will be the new exclusive home for renowned nationally syndicated talk-radio personality and Marconi Award nominee Jay Severin.
The line-up will also include a simulcast of The Glenn Beck Radio Program, Americas third-highest rated radio show which Premiere syndicates to over 400 affiliates across the country, a re-launched show hosted by Stu Burguiere and Pat Gray and audio simulcasts of TheBlaze TV shows. TheBlaze Radio Network can be heard starting later this month on iHeartRadio, Clear Channel's free industry-leading digital radio service, TheBlaze.com and TheBlaze iPhone and iPad apps.
Who knows, some of you may enjoy him. Not sure of the slot. Online (see above). He is not without controversy.
Jay lost his job a couple weeks ago when Clear Channel pulled the plug on Talk 1200.
I remember in 07 when it looked like Howie was headed to 96.9, where Jay was at the time, and Jay and Michael Graham made some on-air sly references to the talk host they thought would be joining them: “Shall we say, drive my Carr?”
I listened to Jay for years. He’s pretty good. A bit over the top with his ego and hyperbole relative to his background/resume.
He was a huge critic of the Iraq war - a Buchanan isolationist type.
I didn’t even realize he was gone form AM 1200. Personally, I could hardly get that channel in Nashua, much less at my house in Amherst.
Yes a couple weeks ago Clear Channel figured 1200 wasn’t profitable—they “gave” Rush and Coast to Coast back to WRKO 680 and laid off Jay and morning guy Jeff Katz. The other syndicated shows like Hannity, Beck, and Levin are now no longer on in Boston but most can be found on stations in
NH (610), Worcester (580/94.9), Prov (920), and Cape Cod (95.1)...and I think 560 in Springfield area
I enjoyed listening to Jay too. However, I found it annoying when he would pretend to be such a stud. Maybe he was just trying to appeal to a younger crowd than your typical talk radio audience. It was better when he admitted that he was married with children.
I still remember when he started his short lived national show via CBS/Infinity. WTKK carried it. Someone called up at the start and asked him how his lovely wife and daughter were doing. He may have been portraying himself as a young swingin’ single.
He quickly said “I don’t know what you’re talking about...”
>>. It was better when he admitted that he was married with children.
I remember that too. He was also pretending to live in Mass at the time. He was actually living out in the Hamptons.
He has since moved to Marblehead.
I like Michael Graham and have found him to be very reasonable. He also answers his email. I have conversed with him on several occasions.
Actually it was Manchester by the Sea, one town from me (I call it Manchester by the Money), unless he got rid of that place and went to M’head...?

2007: “Talk radio guy Jay Severin, who returned to Boston’s WTKK (96.9 FM) airwaves last month, and his wife, Renee, bought a 7,624-square-foot mansion on Highland Avenue in Manchester-by-the-Sea for $2.2 million from Catherine A. Hull. The house, which county records say has 17 rooms, eight bedrooms, and 5 1/2 baths, is on nearly 5 1/2 acres.”
2-5 pm acc to Boston Radio Watch tweet
Your probably correct. Sounds like nice digs.
FYI, my family and I will be at the Mitt Romney rally in Nashua Friday night at Holman stadium.
IIRC, he was always talking about his dogs..Newfoundlands, I think...
details via Beck press release
9am-Noon: The Glenn Beck Program
Noon-2: Pat and Stu
2-5: Jay Severin
5-6: Glenn Beck TV (simulcast of Glenns TV show)
6-7: Real News from the Blaze (simulcast of TV)
Surprised to find that he is married. He was always crowing about his ways with women, but, when I saw his publicity photo he looks, how can I put it, a little too well groomed......
Severin is a rabid Romney booster, he practically has him on Mount Rushmore already, so he must have been going out of his mind the past few weeks, not being on the air during the Ryan announcement and the RNC.
Time to load that iHeart Radio app back to my phone.
Jay opposed the Iraq War for the right reasons: because he loved America. Unlike lefties who opposed it because they hate America.
The Iraq War was grotesquely mismanaged, in part because W made too many concessions to the Dems.
What station and time slot is Jay going to be in? Any news about Jeff?
No word about a job for Jeff.
Jay’s new job is for a radio network ONLINE version of the Blaze so no “stations” that I know of. You will be able to get it on iHeartRadio on your smartphone.
Online/on smartphones only as far as I know.
